I don’t know about you, but before I click on a song, I definitely judge the cover art. One of the easiest ways to stand out among the same fonts and uniform layouts of streaming platforms is to have a striking album cover. Music producers are also aware of this fact, they collaborate with visual artists and create incredibly beautiful album covers. In this article, we have brought together 10 album cover designs that we think may inspire you, and we also prepared a 30-songs playlist featuring amazing cover art.

2. Villagers – The Art of Pretending to Swim (2018)

The Art of Pretending to Swim is the fourth studio album by Irish indie pop band Villagers. The album’s cover art is made by Irish painter Niall Mccormack who is mostly known for his geometrical patterns.

4. The Cactus Channel & Sam Cromack – Do It For Nothing (2017)

5. Coast Modern – Coast Modern (2017)

Coast Modern is the debut album by the American indie pop duo of the same name. The cover illustration is made by Daiana Ruiz, Argentine artist based in Berlin. Ruiz also designed the vibrant covers of each single track from the album, to check out more of her works: @dairuiz.

6. Dayglow – Fuzzybrain (2019)

Dayglow is the indie pop project of American singer, songwriter, and producer Sloan Struble. Fuzzybrain is his debut album and he actually made the sculpture on the album cover himself -we love a versatile king.

7. Young the Giant – Home of the Strange (2016)

8. MGMT – Little Dark Age (2018)

Album Cover Art: Jim Taber

LDA is the fourth studio album by the American indie rock band MGMT. The album’s iconic cover artwork – and tattoo for many people- features an illustration by Jim Taber. It originally appeared in 1988 on the front cover of the first issue of Witness to the Bizarre, a literary horror and supernatural fanzine.

9. Lawn – Bigger Sprout (2022)

Bigger Sprout is the not-yet out album of Lawn, Dutch Alternative-Indie rock band. The colorful cover illustration is made by ceramic artist Annie Russel @secretlunch , inspired by a photograph of Alex Prager ( @alexprager). The album will be out in summer 2022.

10. The Strokes – The New Abnormal (2020)

The New Abnormal is the sixth studio album by American rock band the Strokes, a fan favorite for sure. The album cover features a 1981 painting by the iconic Jean-Michel Basquiat called Bird on Money.
